Project 2

Bar Stools
I bought these bar stools at a yard sale for a dollar each!

Scott picked out the fabric to reupholster.  Painted stools and used Goo Gone to give it the "weathered" look.

Project 1

Making a 8x8 picture frame for my family collage picture.

Started with blank craft frame and "do it your self" frame pieces. (All bought at Michael's)

I glued on frame pieces, painted on a white coat then a dark coat.  Then use "Go be gone" to give it the "weathered" and "used" look.

New Moon DVD Release!

So @ about 4pm I had gotten a Tweet from Twilight Moms that Justin Chon(Erik Yorky), Michael Welch(Mike Newton) and Angela(Christian Serratos) where going to be at the Riverton Wal-Mart for the New Moon DVD release. I was out shopping with my mom and sister at the time so I started freaking out and we made a game plan. I was going to head right over to the Wal-Mart to hold a place in line while they went to see Alice in Wonderland.
Last year for the Twilight DVD release Victoria(Rachelle Lefevre) was there signing and taking pics with everyone! So I thought that it would be similiar.
So when I got there friday evening a man was handing out blue tickets in the line. There was probably about 100 people there. I asked the guy for 2 more tickets for my mom and sister. He told me that they didn't need them. I asked him "So they'll be able to get in on my ticket?" He said yes.
At about 9pm they moved us up to the front of the store around the stage. Some people stopped us and asked us for out tickets. They told my mom and sister that they couldn't go through with out a ticket!! I was so mad!! So it was just me! with a few hundred people and over 3,000 people behind me!

They all came out and greeted the crowd then they sent them some where else to sign 300 copies of the DVD.

Then they brought them back out on stage for Q&A. In the videos Mike talks about his hair change, having different directors and they all thank the fans and give us some words of wisdom.

Unlike last year we were unable to get pictures with the cast and have them personalize items. They hurried us through like cattle so I knew I wouldn't be able to get a good picture so I videoed it. I just ignore the high "HI!" and I apologize for the video going all over the place but this was the best part!

It was a great night and a fantastic weekend!! I am a very blessed lady to have such an amazing Mother and Sister that came to visit and a wonderful amazing husband that loves me more than I could have ever hoped for!

Me with my signed (by Mike Welch, Justin Chon and Christian Serratos) New Moon DVD with Edwards Volvo!

The Oscars

Scott and I watched the Oscars last night. I was very touched by Sandra Bulloch's speech and was proud of the cast of Precious. I was also so very happy that The Cove won for best documentary!! If you haven't read my blog about it below, let me just say I was incredibly touched by that film and was so happy it won the oscar and it will only bring more attention to what is going on in Japan. On a different note did anyone notice that George Clooney looked like he was in a bad mood sitting next to his flavor of the month? He looked like he had some where else to be. I think he is not a very nice word.

The" Dolphin 'smile' is one of nature's biggest deceptions."

I don't know really were to start. I've never really considered my-self as being an activist and I still wouldn't consider me to be even after today. But what I do know is that I am, forever, a changed person after what I have just watched.

The other day I purchased a documentary from itunes called The Cove. It intrigued me because a while back I remembered watching something on the news with an actress Hayden Panettiere who tried to stop dolphin killings in Japan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0YCD3Zcuw8

So when I saw The Cove on itunes and saw that it was all about these dolphin killings I wanted to see it and learn more about it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYKNCN1ESZM

What I liked about this documentary is that they approached exposing this issue legally and logically by exposing the that the killings of dolphins are not necessary. Dolphin meet is toxic. It has the highest levels of mercury than any other animal. So high that the Japanese do not even eat it but these fisherman blend it in with whale meat hide it. They make only about $6 off each dolphin if they use it for meat.

This is so profound to me because, I would probably be one of those people that would turn a blind eye to them killing dolphins if it was because they use and eat dolphin meat and the "fishing" of dolphins was their livelihood. It changes things when there is no reason at all.

The footage they get is horrific! I mean I was an absolute mess watching it! I almost compare it to, if we had, actual footage of people being massacred in the Holocaust. Massacre, that's the best way I could describe it! I really really really suggest everyone watch it and decide for yourself what you think and how you feel about it.

I have always loved Dolphins. At my grandparents beach house in Mexico every evening (it never fails) you can see Dolphins swimming out in the horizon. I just remember wanting so terribly wanting to jump in the ocean and swim out to them! And ever sence I can remember I have wanted to swim with a dolphin. You know, I wanted to have one of those "Dolphin experiances" in some park. But after watching The Cove it was life changing. I realized that unless I was willing to learn how to scuba or free dive and go out to the ocean to swim with them I don't get to have that experiance. I will not and cannot participate, condone or even enjoy a dolphin in captivity. Yes even Sea World.

Please don't get me wrong. I enjoy the Zoo as much as the next person and I am all for educating and doing what is possible to encourage conservation of the earth and all that live in and on it. But "The Dolphin Experience" and people paying for that experiance it is one of the reasons some of the killings of dolphins continue.

Again I think that everyone should watch it and decide for yourself.

But if you want to be like me know that you can't really make a difference but want to do something go to these sites.

I'm in love!

Scott's cousin drew our name for Christmas and they got us the Cuisinart Hand Blender with all these accessories! I just love it! It does everything! My favorite thing to do with it is make mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, and smoothies. It's incredibly easy to use and clean! I give it 5 stars!
